Callsign sufix for student and mentor, suggestion only!

Hello everyone!

At first: There are no rule regarding sufix for mentor and student when online, only suggestions and a common practice regarding sufix for student and mentor!

I suggest that mentor have sufix _M_ (ESSA_M_APP) and student _T_ (ESSA_T_APP) as an general " rule" in Vatsim-Scandinavia.

Why this suggestion:

We supervisors have a new upcoming software that regarding GRP (global ratings policy)recognize an valid training session if student has _T_ sufix and mentor _M_ sufix.

We supervisors have then a posibility to monitor other things in the network and help other users, if these isues "disapear".

We are usually very good at this in Vatsim Scandinavia, but now I have explained why these sufixes are helpfull! Thanks!

Scandinavian VA - Request ATC in ......Greece

Hi all,

As you know, next sunday may 20th, the SVA organizes a groupflight between EKCH and LGSM.
VATSIM Scandinavia provides controlers during departure, and the plan was VATSIM Greece for arrival...

During the last 2 weeks I have been trying to contact VATSIM Greece, no result however, they simply do not answer.
I have used their web site contact form, sent emails and tried to get access to their forums, all failed
So it looks like we don't have any ATC during arrival, at least not from our Greek friends.

Therefore Is it possible/allowed that a member of the VATSIM Scandinavia team provides arrival ATC?
Any help is much appreciated

It is time for our second jump in our nordic capital jump.

On May 20th, we will fly from Helsinki to Copenhagen, with departure time @ 16:00 UTC, arrival is planned for 17:30UTC, but as the 13th, we'll be arriving in sequence for up to 30-60 mins.

At the moment, 15 pilots signed up for this event.

Our former RWY 13/31 is just 1 degree "younger" => We have now RWY 12/30!

As you know the Scandinavian VA has planned a fly-in from EKCH to LGSM-Samos in next weekend (20-05)
I have difficulties reaching someone of the VACC Greece for asking controller support at LGSM.
Filled in a web contact form about 10 days ago, no response yet.

I can't find any email address, does anyone of VACC Scandinavia has an email address of VACC Greece I can contact?

Scandinavian VA - Voice Channel?

Hi Gents,

Via one of our members I learned that VATSIM Scandinavia provides a voice channel for our VA, thanks for that.
Since I never used a private voice channel, I need some instructions how we can use it and what we need to install/setup/configure.

Can we connect to the SVA voice channel through the SB or FSINN clients or do we need to install the additional TS3-Client?
Hopefully we can connect using either SB or FSINN, because otherwise I see conflicts between the build-in voice client of SB/FSINN and TS3-Client on the horizon.
And what do we need to configure?

This time Ulrik Kvist will show his skills in order to become an en-route controller.

Copenhagen Airport will be fully staffed and maybe some of the local fields also. You can expect a very crowded airspace this Sunday evening - Speed limits, holdings, short finals and tight vectoring is something you might expect on the 20th of May in Denmark.
Some of you might even get "special requests"

Virtual Norwegian Groupflight May 13th

Hello Vatsim-Scandinavia!

Virtual Norwegian is going to have a series of 4 groupflights, 1 per week. First series we will serve the capitals in the Nordic countries.

First off is our jump between Oslo and Helsinki.

We do not know how many will attend but at the moment 24 have signed up.

I was just wondering, does VATSCA have an official policy or standpoint regarding Solo Tower Validations and Solo Approach Validations?

It's a system that has been working quite well in the UK and I would be intrested to hear the thoughts from the board regarding this matter.

For those of you unfamiliar with the concept I will link the UK forums to you with a description, unfortunately it is down at the moment. What I can say do is that it basically allows someone to cover a single tower or approach position even though they do not have the appropriate rating, this is to allow students that are at test standard to gain more experience on the network without the need of a mentor. This only applies to one position and only after having been recommended by the mentor and approved by the training department.

This morning the danish aviation carrier "Cimber Sterling" announced their bankruptcy.

This means that from today, four danish airports have lost their direct connection to Copenhagen several times a day.

Billund, Karup, Soenderborg and Bornholm is now without a direct connection to Copenhagen

IMO I think we'll see Flybe-Scandinavia or SAS on these routes in the near future. Norwegian might re-open Karup.

I'm just happy that I bought my domestic flight ticket for the weekend at SAS and not at Cimber.
