I am very sad to announce that yesterday I received and accepted the resignation of @Daniel Lange (1352906). Daniel has been an invaluable part of VATSIM Scandinavia for the past 6 years, and I want to extend my deepest thanks for his hard work and dedication to our community.
During his time as tech manager, Daniel played a key role in shaping and strengthening our tech department. Through his countless hours of effort, he modernized our systems, streamlined operations, and lay a solid foundation that will benefit our members for years to come. His vision and commitment ensured that the tech side of VATSIM Scandinavia grew into a well-structured, reliable, and innovative department that supports everything we do.
Daniel’s departure is a big loss for us, but his impact will remain. On behalf of the whole community, I want to thank him for his contributions.
Daniel will stay in his position until a replacement is found.
We are now looking for a new Tech Manager.
Duties are:
- Manages and maintains VATSIM Scandinavia’s web services under the supervision of the vACC Director.
- Maintains server infrastructure and ensures system stability and security.
- Ensures compliance with IT security and privacy regulations.
- Acts as the point of contact for VATSIM integrations and standard procedures with VATSIM centrally and VATEUD.
- Acts as gatekeeper for access control
- Delegation of workload
Formal requirements for the position:
- You must have been a member of VATSIM Scandinavia for at least one month
- You must have a rating of S3 or higher in VATSIM
- You have experience in managing Docker containers, Github and Linux server management or similar.
Because you will have access to sensitive and confidential information, it is important to maintain a high level of discretion.
