Dear member of VATSIM Scandinavia
The election for the next vACC director will commence next week from June 22nd and will last until July 6th. During this period permanent ATC controllers will be able to cast their vote at https://cc.vatsim-scandinavia.org/.
Voting Process
Each member can only cast one (1) vote. Your vote is final and cannot be modified. Our voting system only keeps track of the users who have voted and the totals for each candidate, ensuring there can be no way for anyone to check which candidate you have chosen. You can either vote for a candidate or cast a blank vote. A successful candidate will need a simple majority.
After voting has ended, a member of the Tech Department and I will certify the result by manually verifying no ineligible user has been able to vote and that nobody has voted more than once. Once the result has been certified, it will be posted here on the forums in the announcements section.
Q&A For the Candidate
In this week before election will officially begin a Discord forum will be created for people to ask questions to the candidate(s), for clarification or declaration. We highly encourage people to engage in the democratic process and ask the relevant questions that will steer the VACC in the right direction.
Candidate(s):
Christian Peschardt
CID: 1114532
Controller rating: C1
Dear members of VATSIM Scandinavia,
So, who am I?
My name is Christian and I'm 32 years old, live roughly 40 minutes south of Gothenburg, Sweden. I've been in the flightsim-hobby since 2009 and on Vatsim since 2010. During this time I've been both mentoring, sitting in the event department, transferred over to VATCAN in the Toronto FIR and doing both mentoring and working with events there as well.
Even though I have been on VATSIM since 2010 I've had a quite big break from VATSIM and flightsim overall for almost 10 years and I came back to VATSIM late 2024 again, moving back to VATSIM-Scandinavia and starting my refresh.
I believe VATSIM Scandinavia has incredible potential to continue growing and become an even better environment to grow as either a pilot or a controller. I want to be a part of that, to come in with a bit of fresh air and help the VACC moving forward to become an even stronger VACC.
As a candidate, I want to focus on creating an open, active and supportive environment for everyone, from brand new members taking their first steps on the network to experienced controllers and pilots who have contributed for years.
I believe good leadership means listening to the community, being transparent, encouraging collaboration and making sure people feel valued for the time and effort they invest for VATSIM-Scandinavia.
If elected, my goals would include:
Strengthening communication and cooperation across the division.
Increasing community engagement and activity.
Promoting a welcoming atmosphere for new members.
Continuing to improve the overall experience for both pilots and ATC.
I want VATSIM Scandinavia to remain a place where people enjoy contributing, learning and spending time together while doing our favourite hobby!
Most importantly, I want to represent the members fairly and professionally while helping ensure the division continues moving forward in a positive direction.
Thank you for reading my application and I do hope I receive your vote of confidence to become the next VACC director for VATSIM-Scandinavia
